"Drop Into Paradise" - Set amongst the luscious forest of Vang Vieng, the beautiful Yui Waterfall is popular amongst locals as a place for a picnic.
"Checking For Light" - A monk checks to make sure a lantern is lit during the Boun Ok Phansa festival in Luang Prabang
"Cascading Levels" - Simply serene, we could have spent hours relaxing by the many water falls in Vang Vieng.
"Dragons Breath" - The locals surround one of the 30 floats for the Boun Ok Phansa festival chanting and drinking rice wine to celebrate as paper lanterns are released into the sky.
"Crystal Pool" - Down a dirt road we stumbled upon a sign for a cave, we paid our entrance fee and a local man took us deep into the mud cave, after coming out filthy, we plunged into this natural pool and welcomed the cold river water.
"Grey Harvest" - Workers walk the fields on a misty afternoon in the Xieng Khouang province.
"Floating Away" - 2 hot air balloons are set off morning and night in Vang Vieng.
"Keeping It Alight" - Monks all over Luang Prabang tend to candles to celebrate the end of the 3 month fasting period.
"Gushing Path" - An endless flow from paradise.
"Harvested" - On the side of one of Vang Vieng's many dirt/rock roads sits this stunning rice field, lucky for me, this rusted truck made for a perfect foreground.
"Lit Pools" - Sun shines down on one of the many tiers of Tad Sae Waterfall.
"Ladder Of Roots" - I spent some time climbing these roots with some locals, whilst they perfected their back flips and laughed at my failed attempts.
"Luscious Drop" -The sun came out long enough for me to capture this vibrant photograph.
"Tumbling Stones" - Water flows through the stoned path, although it is less green than its neighbouring falls, it still keeps in beauty.
"My House" - This face was followed up by 'Sabaidee!' meaning 'Hello!' and a cheeky wave.
"Rainbow Pilot" - The pilot of the hot air balloon works the routine which is carefully practised.
"Setting Balloon" - A panoramic view from inside our hot air balloon's wicker basket. The sunset was just showing off.
"Serene Stages" - The flow of water never ends.
"Spilling Turquoise" - This tier of Tad Sae waterfall provided the perfect water flow for the locals to wash their hair below it.
"Space To Float" - In a break of the rice paddies, these ducks find a pond perfect to live in.
"Water Steps" - Natural steps provided a beautiful flow of cool river water.
"Sunset Range" - Another one from our hot air balloon trip, when the sky lit up, the group inside fell silent.
"Candle Float" - The paper floats are decorated with candles before being cast into the Mekong River for the Boun Ok Phansa festival
"Kacham Charm" - The quietest of the 3 waterfalls in Luang Prabang made Kacham Falls the best one.
"Four In A Line" - Four children holding their paper lanterns at the front of their float eagerly awaiting the start of the festival.
"Leading Down" - A river flowing at the base of the Tham Piew Cave which would have provided drinking water for the Locals who lived in the cave during the Vietnam war. During this time Laos was more heavily bombed than any other country in history. To this day Laos is not even close to being cleared of active explosives left behind from the war.
"Light Mask" - Monks lead a silent moment as they light the candles that have been blown out during the night's festivities.
"Orange Shadow" - The candle leaves an orange glow on the monk's face as he lights a lantern.
"Raised Fall" - Light spills through the canopy above Yui Waterfall near Vang Vieng.
"Rice Gate" - A gate made of sticks is all that is needed to keep this field protected from cattle.
"Deep Levels" - On a hot Lao day we had Kacham Falls all to ourselves, only sharing it with the many butterflies that carry on about their day around the water flow.
"Splashed Walkway" - This wooden bridge takes you from one side of Tad Sae waterfall to the other, offering perfect views of the stunning tiers.
"Side Spin" - Another from a perfect day at Kacham Waterfall, located 1 hour South-West of Luang Prabang.
"Tad Sae Tiers" - We spent hours here amongst the other tourists, locals and the odd elephant, swimming and relaxing in the cool water.
"Running Pool" - Kouangxi waterfall has plenty of pools in which both locals and tourists can enjoy swimming. This pool however is far too fast flowing and so no one is able to swim in it.
"Spilling Warmth" - Cool water flows below as the warmth of the sun spills over the leaves above
"Stump Stream" - A stump is all that is left of this tree in the middle of the river flow at the Kouangxi falls.
"Floating Red" - A hot air balloon rises just before sunset in Vang Vieng
"Walk Or Fall" - The top and main waterfall at Kouangxi falls is easily accessed by following the paths, this even has a walkway to the base of the main drop where you can get so close to the falls you are soaked by spray in seconds.
